Seriously, isn’t it just a little weird to go on one of those and message someone that you’ve never met? I’ve been trying to think of some sort of a get-to-know you or first message to someone for hours and quite frankly, online dating is a totally new field for me. I don’t want to seem like some sort of a crazy person actually believing that it’s possible to meet someone through online dating, but at the same time, I’d be willing to try just once.

It is a *fantastic* way to meet people of the same interest. I did it years ago and was *very* successful. Sure, they all did not really pan out in the long run (for me), but it could have if I was completely into it.
I met a lot of wonderful women on there and am *still* friends with a lot of them. I even did it the “free” way on Match. Those that had paid, could send *me* messages, but all I could do was “wink” back. lol
Those that were “savvy” would send stealth messages with a hidden email address. (Match would automatically delete any email address) Unfortunately, some of the messages I would get from some hotties had a blank spot where their email address should have been. But when it worked, it worked great.
There are ways to get to know someone without actually meeting them in person first. Often, I would find myself in a video Instant Message with them and we’d correspond *that* way, first. Then, after the deal was sealed, we’d meet in a public place like a Starbucks, or something. More often than not, I was surprised and they were “better than expected”. (video can add a couple pounds -lol)
I would highly recommend it. It is *very* safe if done properly and you can get to know the person *before* you actually meet them. (Ie. emails, IM’s, phone, etc)
Good luck & happy hunting.

PS. It would work 90% better if you did it the “pay” way, though. It might seem like a lot at first, but well worth it in the end.
